This early morning coastal walk is easy and great for the whole family. Taking part is not only good for your health, but you're also fundraising and raising awareness for Australia's national cancer! You're encouraged to take part as Australia unites to fight this devastating disease.

Bribie Island is located off the Queensland coast approximately 1 hour north of Brisbane. Bribie Island is an unspoilt paradise, popular amongst tourists and locals alike, boasting white sands, stunning views and a hub of local businesses offering a number of dining and entertainment options.

Bribie Island invites us back for the second year, with the march commencing from the Volunteer Marine Rescue at Bribie and heads north to Sunset Park before returning to the start location.

Joy Leishman is the dedicated volunteer hosting the 2016 Melanoma March Bribie Island for the second time. Joy and her family have been directly impacted by melanoma and are hoping to raise funds and awareness to help change the outcome of quality of life for people living with this disease. The local committee and the team at Melanoma Institute Australia encourage everyone to join in on the march to one day find a cure!

Getting there

There is ample parking at the Volunteer Marine Rescue, Marine Parade, Bellara.

What to wear

We encourage all Melanoma Marches to practice their sun safety while taking part in this event. Sunscreen will be available at all events, but we suggest that you apply your sunscreen before leaving home. Participants are also encouraged to dress appropriately with sun-safe clothing, hats and sunglasses and remember your comfortable shoes.
