Canberra will be welcoming Melanoma Institute Australia to their town for the second time in March 2016, as the community bands together to march toward a cure. Melanoma March Canberra will take place from the picturesque Weston Park, and is hosted by first time committee members Sharon Dei Rocini and Linda Birkeland.

Melanoma March Canberra will commence from the end of Pescott Lane in Weston Park, just near the mini train carpark. The walk will be a lovely 4km stroll following the path around the park past the nursery with views to the lake.

In 2016, participants of the event are welcome to march, walk, stroll or even run the event. We encourage runners to make their way to the front of the pack at the start of the event. Please note; this is not a timed event.

The committee are hoping to raise funds and awareness to help change the outcome and quality of life for people living with melanoma. Sharon, Linda, their families and the team at Melanoma Institute Australia encourage you to get involved and march to one day find a cure for melanoma!

Getting there

Weston Park is located in Yarralumla, near the Yarralumla nursery. There is parking available within Weston Park.

What to wear

We encourage all Melanoma Marchers to practice their sun safety while taking part in this event. Sunscreen will be available at all events, but we suggest that you apply your sunscreen before leaving home. Participants are also encouraged to dress appropriately with sun-safe clothing, hats and sunglasses and remember your comfortable shoes.
