The seaside city of Wollongong, an hour and a half south of Sydney is looking forward to hosting their third annual Melanoma March from Stuart Park. 2016 is looking to be bigger and better than ever before!


Melanoma March Wollongong starts at 7.30am with the 4km walk commencing at 9.00am. Melanoma Marchers will walk south along the foreshore before turning around at the lighthouse at Flagstaff Hill Park and returning to Stuart Park.

The hosts of this event Karen Ryan, Tennille Shelly and Jay Allen are dedicated supporters of Melanoma Institute Australia, hoping to raise funds and awareness to help change the outcome and quality of life of people living with melanoma. Karen, Tennille, Jay, along with the team at Melanoma Institute Australia encourages you to get involved and march to one day find cure for melanoma!


Getting there

Located minutes from Wollongong CBD, there is ample parking within the Stuart Park grounds. The organisers of Melanoma March ask that you be mindful of other park users and skydivers when driving within Stuart Park. For public transport options, please visit Transport NSW.



What to wear

We encourage all Melanoma Marchers to practice their sun safety while taking part in this event. Sunscreen will be available at all events, but we suggest that you apply your sunscreen before leaving home. Participants are also encouraged to dress appropriately with sun-safe clothing, hats and sunglasses and remember your comfortable shoes.

As a not-for-profit organisation, these events are all run by volunteers. All profits go directly toward funding research projects at Melanoma Institute Australia. If you or your business has the capacity to help with the organisation of the event (printing flyers, sharing on social media, loaning pop-up marquees to the organisers etc) it would be greatly appreciated.
